What's in Store for 2016
2016 is shaping up to be a very busy and exciting year for Chard Development, with multiple projects in both Victoria and Vancouver under construction or being launched. We thought we’d provide you with a little snapshot of what’s in store for Chard in 2016.
Our 6th development in Victoria, Escher, located on Broughton Street in Downtown Victoria, will really start to take shape early in the New Year as we’ll see the building at grade by the end of 2016, nearing completion. It will be a busy time for us getting our suites perfect for our new homeowners, and ensuring that no detail is overlooked. We can’t wait to introduce our Escher homeowners to their new homes!
Our Victoria rental development at 819 Yates will see a lot of great progress in 2016. Not only will the underground parkades be complete by mid-year, but we’ll also see the above grade structure start to take shape with some finishing aspects taking place later in the year. The building will feature 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom suites, perfect for anyone from a student to new families and seniors. 819 Yates will also undergo a ‘brand makeover’ to ensure that the project design will be recognizable and memorable. Rental opportunities will become available in 2017.
Our latest residential development in Vancouver, Ellsworth, located on Main Street and 7th Avenue, will launch in Spring 2016. This 9-storey, 89 unit building located in Vancouver’s historic and cultural Mount Pleasant neighbourhood will feature Chard’s Signature Rooftop Terrace and other Chard Smart features, a commercial space at street level, and an eye-catching design. Ellsworth’s website is set to launch in March so be sure to check it out for more information. The Presentation Centre, located at Main & 5th Avenue, is scheduled to open in late April with sales starting around the same time. We are so excited to unveil the project to the public and can’t wait to see the building start to take shape in Summer of 2016 when construction is set to commence.
The 34 West 7th commercial development located in Mount Pleasant is scheduled to begin construction with breaking ground occurring in the Fall of 2016. The building will feature shared and private rooftop terraces, stunning views of Downtown Vancouver, and industrial and office spaces ideal for a wide range of companies and sizes. 34 West 7th will be sold as strata office space and purchasing opportunities are set to start in the Spring 2016.
