On January 25, 2022, Chard’s proposal to rezone 622 SW Marine Drive received unanimous support from Mayor and Council in the City of Vancouver. Once constructed, the development will bring a diverse mix of purpose-built rental housing, including 28 deeply affordable homes exclusive to female-led single parent households and their children through a partnership with YWCA Metro Vancouver. The development will bring community-serving retail and a dedicated childcare centre to the Marpole community. It will significantly improve the public realm, bringing added vibrancy to this centrally-located, transit-oriented neighbourhood.
We are excited to be working with a talented team of consultants – including MCM Architects and PWL Partnership Landscape Architects – to realize this vision. Comprised of two residential rental towers of 32 and 28 storeys, the development represents the largest to date for Chard. More than 40% of the site will be dedicated to open public space that includes a midblock connection to a large, south facing plaza. More than 23,000 square feet of amenity space will be available to all building residents.
