Our team is thrilled to advise that Byron Chard, President & CEO of Chard Development Ltd., has been selected as a recipient of Business in Vancouver’s 2023 Forty Under 40 Awards. The annual awards program recognizes excellence in business and community leadership.
Members of this year’s cohort boast remarkable early-career achievements and a clear dedication to service, engagement and volunteerism.
“We had a large and impressive group of nominees for this year’s awards program. Our judging panel found the achievements, dedication and community work of these 40 individuals to be truly exceptional. We are fortunate to have these leaders in our communities,” said Hayley Woodin Hastings, editor-in-chief of BIV.
Since assuming leadership of Chard Development in May 2019, Byron has expanded Chard’s portfolio of real estate developments beyond mixed-use and residential to include strata commercial, commercial for lease and hotel developments with a particular focus on residential rental development. He has grown the team from 25 to 46 full-time employees, and has grown the portfolio of rental homes (completed and underway) from 0 to over 2,000 homes.
Byron has led the creation of Chard Property Group, a full-service property management company. He has established strategic partnerships with one of Canada’s largest pension funds, representing their interests in Western Canada, and with BC Housing to bring to fruition a diversity of housing at multiple levels across the housing continuum.
This year’s award winners will be featured in BIV’s annual Forty Under 40 Magazine in mid-December and will be recognized at a gala event on February 7, 2024.
