Team Chard has grown and changed a lot over the past 30 years, but one thing that has long been constant is our annual summer “Boat Day”. Like our team, Chard Boat Day has had to evolve. What started as a few people on a sailboat is now more than 60 people – including Chard staff and their families – at Camp Artaban on Gambier Island for a day of fun.
The day began with a bus ride from downtown Vancouver to Horseshoe Bay, followed by a boat ride to Gambier. The staff at Camp Artaban treated us to a fantastic lunch and lots of yummy snacks, and the team engaged in a host of fun activities including swimming, volleyball, sailing, archery, wall climbing, basketball, croquet and kayaking. After a great day of outdoor fun, the team made the return trip to Vancouver, with everyone looking forward to doing it again next year!
