We are excited to share that earlier this month, the east crane was successfully erected on site at The Cascades in South Vancouver! Work is currently underway to allow for installation of a second crane in the coming weeks, which will set the stage for the start of construction on site.
Excavation of the site got underway last June and has been progressing smoothly ever since thanks to the work of two devoted shotcrete crews and three excavators. This work is expected to continue through to the end of 2023.
Bordered by SW Marine Drive, Ash Street, and W 70th Avenue, The Cascades will bring close to 600 brand new, much needed rental homes to the Marine Gateway neighbourhood. The community will boast unparalleled amenities – including a sport court, fully-equipped gym facility, golf simulator, penthouse lounge spaces, rooftop terraces, co-working areas, guest suites, pet grooming facilities and more – made available to all residents of The Cascades. The development will serve as a community anchor thanks to a dedicated midblock walkway and a large public plaza, community serving restaurant and retail spaces, and a dedicated childcare facility.
The Cascade’s mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom rental homes will include 28 homes made available exclusively to female-led single parent households at below market and deeply affordable rates thanks to a partnership with YWCA Metro Vancouver. This will mark Chard’s second successful partnership with the YWCA.
