Construction at Chard’s 622 SW Marine Drive site got under way earlier this year and demolition of the three commercial buildings that had previously occupied the site is now complete. Earlier this week, we were proud to unveil the name of this exciting new community. Introducing… The Cascades!
A community of 580 purpose-built rental homes spread between two residential towers of 28 and 32 storeys, The Cascades will set the standard for rental living in South Vancouver. Boasting more than 20,000 square feet of amenity space – including a sport court, dog lounge, co-working spaces, guest suites, rooftop terraces and more – The Cascades will be an enviable place to call home. Located just one block to the Canada Line SkyTrain Station, The Cascades will welcome the larger community through a public midblock connection connecting to a large, south facing plaza fronting W 70th Avenue. A dedicated childcare facility will occupy the podium along with community serving retail space.
The Cascades continues Chard’s commitment to providing a diversity of housing across the housing continuum and will include 28 deeply affordable homes offered through a partnership with YWCA Metro Vancouver.
