Trevor joined the Chard team late last summer and has been in the industry for almost 5 years now. We asked him some questions to get to know him a bit better. Check out his answers below!
What does your day-to-day look like in your role?
In my role as an Associate Development Manager, I am responsible for managing the different consulting teams on our projects and overseeing the municipal approval process for the various stages of our projects.
What is a recent win or highlight you’ve had at work?
Our demolition was recently approved for 688 SW Marine and is now underway. We also held a public information session back at the start of February for the public plaza located within our Victoria project at 1050 Yates and received some great public feedback!
How are you challenged in your role? And how do you work through challenges?
A frequent challenge in my role is having to know so many different aspects of design, permitting, and construction, while also knowing how to communicate effectively with the vastly different types of individuals within each department. Every day is different and comes with new learning and challenges which keep me engaged. The best way to overcome these challenges is to lean on colleagues and connections as everyone has different backgrounds and can provide different points of view.
Favourite place near the office to grab a coffee? What’s your go-to order?
Deville recently opened up a location right near our office, and they make a mean London Fog Latte!
Share a fun fact about you!
A fun fact about me is that I play competitive men’s league ice hockey year-round, and in the summer, you can find me spending any free weekend I have on the golf course.
What is something you are looking forward to in your personal life?
I’m getting married this year! We are looking forward to travelling and exploring Portugal and Spain afterwards for a short but sweet honeymoon we have planned.
