What does a day in the life at Chard look like for you?
Each day is dynamic and unpredictable. The unpredictable nature of legal practice and business operations ensures that each day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn. I am often involved in addressing unexpected legal issues or questions that arise within the company. These could range from contract interpretation queries to compliance requirements, researching and advising on new legal matters and developments within the real estate industry and reviewing and drafting legal agreements.
What do you enjoy MOST about working at Chard?
As Junior In-House Counsel, I work on a wide range of legal matters which keeps the work interesting and allows me to develop a broad skill set. I also enjoy the collaborative nature of the work at Chard and the opportunity to interact with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Can you share a career highlight or accomplishment you’re proud of?
I was the first in-house articling student at Chard and I was called to the bar in December 2023 and thereafter retained as Chard’s Junior In-House Counsel. I am Chard’s first “home-grown” lawyer.
When you’re not working, what can we find you doing?
Travelling and spending time with my friends. The last place I travelled to was South Africa where I spent two weeks in the Drakensburg Mountains with my family.
What is a fun fact about you?
I love arts and culture, visiting museums and exploring historical landmarks!
