Avril joined the Chard team just over a year ago and has been in the industry for almost 7 years now. We asked her some questions to get to know her a bit better. Check out her answers below!
What does your day-to-day look like in your role?
Even in accounting, every day at Chard is dynamic, different, and full of interesting challenges. The bulk of my time is spent preparing debt and equity funding requests and managing the cash flow for a portfolio of our development projects.
What is a recent win or highlight you’ve had at work?
Successfully navigating my first-year end with our growing team.
How are you challenged in your role? And how do you work through challenges?
No two projects are the same which means there is always something new to learn. I am lucky to be able to work through these challenges with my awesome team. Everyone in the office is keen to explain the WHY behind how we’ve reached a certain decision, which makes for a great learning environment.
Favourite place near the office to grab a coffee? What’s your go-to order?
I’m not a coffee drinker, but I’m always on the hunt for a good sushi spot at lunch time.

In a previous life, I used to race cars competitively in a sport called Auto-X. I even won a National Championship!
What is something you are looking forward to in your personal life?
I’ve recently signed up for my second triathlon in July!
