Sunaina joined the team at The Royals this past year and has quickly become a dedicated and essential part of the Chard Property Management team. We asked her some questions to get to know her better. Check out her answers below!
What does a day in the life at Chard look like for you?
The day for me typically starts with reviewing emails and going over my tasks for the day. I stay in constant touch with tenants, vendors, and our team to ensure seamless operations – and while no day is quite the same – this role has taught me the art of adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
What do you enjoy MOST about working at Chard?
I enjoy the opportunity to learn and grow as part of a team managed by someone as seasoned as Renee. Her mentorship has been invaluable and has not only refined my management skills, but also deepened my understanding of the industry. It’s exciting to work somewhere that aligns closely with my own career growth aspirations.
Can you share a career highlight or accomplishment you’re proud of?
I’m particularly proud of my journey with The Royals. Starting out on a part-time basis, navigating in a new country and professional landscape as an immigrant could be daunting and uncertain. However, with the unwavering support and mentorship from the company, I not only found my footing, but also flourished. Within a year, I successfully transitioned into the role of a Building Manager. This progression stands as a testament to both personal growth and the company’s commendable dedication to fostering talent. As I reflect on this achievement, I am filled with gratitude and a renewed determination to continue advancing in my career.
How are you challenged in your role?
Managing multiple projects concurrently challenges me to have meticulous planning, delegate effectively, and stay agile while adapting to me priorities! While it can be demanding, it is also equal parts rewarding and I am always growing to learn new skills in property management.
When you’re not working, what can we find you doing?
During my downtime, often I am exploring new restaurants and diverse cuisines, luckily, I’m surrounded by great options nearby! I also enjoy the opportunity to learn something new by watching documentaries or finding short courses to take that teach me a new skill. Life-long learning is something that is incredibly important to me, so I’m always eager to acquire new knowledge.
What is a fun fact about you?
As someone who is so active and on the move, always engaging with tenants and the community in my work life, it’s a fun twist that in my personal life I am a complete homebody at heart! I cherish moments when I can cozy up with good movie or tv show, and over the years I have curated my collection of tried-and-true favourites. Spending quality time with friends – whether it’s for a laid-back movie night or just some great conversation – is what truly brings me the most joy.
